Nosedive 04:04
stuck in the middle, digging a hole looking for something but you don't know where to go that's when you realize you never know and the hardest part is saying so going in circles looking for speed i said so many things i really didn't mean came back to bite me right in the arm that's the hardest part of holding on the hardest part of holding on is knowing that you can't for long some would love to see you fall i've been afraid of heights there's stairs i would not climb makes no sense can't explain why we went into a nosedive it took an hour to walk a mile i couldn't see i was in the dark there for awhile and then the light it started to show its not easy when you're letting go i explained that i'd been up in the clouds found we were further out than we thought we were out felt like it punched me right in the mouth that's the hardest way of finding out the hardest way of finding out see you all around so up in the air for now i've been afraid of heights there's stairs i would not climb makes no sense can't explain why we went into a nosedive

troubled water gentile on my mind later way too high careful when you're all alone danger when its time to go into the great divide reason (has) all run dry S. O. S., please there's two sides that don't agree not even close balance hangs on every word practice not perfect its worth it by and by ever by your side S. O. S., please there's two sides that will not concede so far apart here i am and there you are you say everythings fine, but i'm the worrying kind, the worrying kind judge and jury fury from all sides no one has to die S. O. S., please there's two sides that disagree not even close progress hangs on every word S. O. S., please there's two sides and both believe so far apart here i am and there you are you say everythings fine,
but, i'm the worrying kind, you say everythings fine,
but, i'm the worrying kind, i'm the worrying kind, yeah, i'm the worrying kind, the worrying kind,
the worrying kind

For The Ages 05:04
they all think we're done wanna to make a run for the ages? ever since when you left (been) slightly out of step with the cadence focus on the facts able to adapt to the changes here we go again not only a win but a statement for the ages 3x tonight is gonna be perfectly in time point me to the side where the stage is and swallow foolish pride we've been on a ride we've been on a ride for the ages 2x it got as low as it could get easy to fathom how the depths could claim us the pressure was intense the struggle to the top, famous you're always in my dreams holding memories is dangerous i'm ready to believe sing a melody and make it for the ages 3x sing a melody for the ages for the ages 3x tonight is gonna be for the ages x only love can save us do you feel courageous? 2x for the ages 1x tonight is gonna be for the ages

God or coincidence 2x does it make a difference what you believe in God or coincidence 2x there was an incident no one witnessed it tis the season there must be a reason they said it wasn't treason right before our eyes left me with honest fears all is not as it appears how did we end up here wearing a disguise? Is it God or coincidence 2x does it make a difference what you believe in God or coincidence 2x there was an incident no one witnessed it and when i wrote this song it didnt take too long i felt it in my bones blowing in the wind it didnt tell a lie offered no compromise why does it sound so right singing it with friends? Is it God or coincidence 2x does it make a difference what you believe in God or coincidence 2x there was an incident no one witnessed it so why are we all here surely the end is near its never been more clear its written in the stars we been preoccupied i know your mama cried you have to choose a side no matter where you are? Is it God or coincidence 2x does it make a difference what you believe in God or coincidence 2x there was an incident no one witnessed it

stuck, staring out the old screen door i don't know about the world anymore will they find a cure? no one is for sure my fire, everybody knows melody married to the words harmony preferred home and out of work loaded up the van went from town to town never made it but i know my way around 2x run the boys back and forth to the school in the summertime off to the pool you'd have to be a fool not to play it cool why did things change so fast? how long will all this last? remembering the past assembling the masses see no worries when you look me in the eye and if you want to know i can tell you why 2x i can tell you why and i ain't gonna lie when everything is wrong they'll always be a song to sing and there's a song for everything danger when you get too close Siamese everywhere I go quarantined at home steady as she goes when you lose it all when there's nothing left its impossible to know what lies ahead when you're face to face lyin' on the floor can you come back again like you were before 2x (are we gonna) sing a song (like we did before) all summer long (like we did before) like we did before ilke we did before find a way to be okay hanging out (like we did before) would you be down(like we did before) like we did before like we did before

about

5 songs written and recorded over the last 5 years, plus two bonus tracks recorded during the pandemic on Darren's Macbook available only on Bandcamp.

The music is played by the best band in the world, Mike Lavdanski, Johnny Kilgore, Cory Heller, Josh Sceurman, and Danny Bower.

This EP is in memory of my nephew Josh Schlappich. The title track, For The Ages, was written for Josh and is based on a beat box and humming pattern that his brother, my nephew, Randall Schlappich had come up with. I wrote words and melody and demoed it on Garageband with the beatbox. We took it to Bruce's studio and started to build the song with a goal of making it big and over the top. The band knocked it out of the park, drums and beat box, to Bruce's vibraphone part, Johnny's mellotron and Talk Box guitar. My brother Dave, and youngest nephew, Ryan also came in and added hand claps. It felt good. Easily my favorite Frog Holler song ever from creation to completion.
